What Hound Is
Hound is a free tool that uses artificial intelligence to help you evaluate whether a situation might be a scam. It is designed to provide helpful opinions and general guidance.
What Hound Is NOT
- Not legal advice. Hound's analysis is not a substitute for professional legal, financial, or law enforcement advice.
- Not guaranteed to be accurate. AI can make mistakes. Hound may occasionally miss a scam or flag something legitimate as suspicious. Always use your own judgment and consult official sources when in doubt.
- Not a reporting tool. If you believe you have been the victim of a scam, report it to the FTC, your local law enforcement, or your bank.
Your Use of the Service
- You may use Hound for personal, non-commercial purposes.
- You agree not to abuse the service, including submitting excessive automated requests or attempting to interfere with the service's operation.
- You are responsible for the content you submit. Do not submit content that is illegal, harmful, or violates the rights of others.
Your Data
Our handling of your data is described in our Privacy Policy. In summary:
- You can use Hound without creating an account.
- If you sign in with Google, your conversations are stored so you can access them later.
- You can delete your conversations at any time.
- Your situation descriptions are sent to a third-party AI service (Anthropic) for analysis.
No Warranty
Hound is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. We do not guarantee that the service will be available at all times, error-free, or that its analysis will be correct. We are not liable for any decisions you make based on Hound's output.
Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Hound and its operator shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service, including but not limited to financial losses resulting from acting or not acting on Hound's analysis.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
